A milestone

Five weeks into the program and I have crossed into a milestone area.  I weighed in at 258.8 lbs, putting me into the 250s. For me that is a huge milestone.  For the week I dropped 9 pounds which I attribute to me finally having some discipline and not cheating. Another key I think was me actually getting decent night sleeps with a couple mid day naps thrown in. I can do that now that I am on summer holidays.
One key things I notice is my increase in energy as I always have to be doing something and sitting around is not as appealing . I am doing more yard work and next on the list is setting up my man cave .

A bad week

Well, I have my one month weigh in this afternoon and I picked a bad week to cheat. I have 6 slices of pizza over 2 days and two mcdonalds burgers. Haven't decided if I am going to reveal that to my coach. Also this family function had no vegetables so I had a rice and noodles. I was good and had no sweets but it was tempting. As a result I have flatlined this week. No loss but also no go gain.
Family function went well, had no comments either way on my weight though. Usually have negative comments so I guess that is a good thing.

I am looking forward to this weigh in because they do a total body scan with water weight and fat content, so I can see where the progress is being made. I have noticed a difference in my belt notches, down almost two full notches. And I tried on my dancing shoes and they feel more comfortable than a few months ago. I also tried skipping today and was able to do so. I couldn't skip before so I guess that is also a good sign. I just wonder if my old clothes from a few years will fit.  I checked over my logs and I am less than 4 years ago instead of 3 years ago as I previously stated.

I literally just tried on a pair of pants from about 10 years ago and man I still have a long long way to go. It is amazing how we can pack on the weight without realizing it.

One step at a time.

Peace out and good luck to me.

Moving along

Well I am 3 weeks into the program. At my three week check in I was down 18 pounds. Lost 10 in first week but been consistent for next two weeks. At this rate we are looking at 20 pounds a month which you gotta believe is pretty good. The nice thing about the program is that it has 4 phases to it so once I drop the pounds I can start building the body back up . It also gives me a break down of water weight vs fat and muscle.  I am excited to see my breakdown next week to see if my body fat has dropped at all.
I have dropped at least one belt notch thus far but the big test will be when I go to a family function tomorrow night. I know I am the lightest I have been in three years but still a lot of work to do.

One step at a time. Just gotta keep that darn pizza out of the house.

Day one

Well it is the evening of day one and so far so good. The meal plan wasn't as bad as I expected, the shakes were good and 2 cups of vegetables were more than I thought. Dinner was okay as 8 pounces of fish were more than enough. I actually got full after drinking half litre of water to wash down the supplements. The program I am using is the Ideal Protein method.
Perhaps the hardest part is and will be the not cheating part as there is licorice, smarties and day old pizza sitting on the kitchen counter. It is not going to be easy as we as a family have a large tendency to eat take out food.  Hopefully over time this will change but one step at a time.
I am excited to see where this journey will take me.

Time to get started

Well, meeting was deferred till this evening. I now have the program and my starter kit. It is now up to me to take that all important first step . It begins tommorrow. It is a strict program but I feel it is not too extreme. I am warned that I will feel hungry at times but I will need to push thru.
Time for a new beginning.
