Changed mind

Well I changed my mind and decided to go the gym tonight, meaning Wed night.
I did notice they have a new line of drinks at the gym called good4you with one being a calorie burner, I will have to get some information on that later.
Well weighed in at 272 tonight, a drop of 3 lbs, not bad kinda impressed. Just got to get to 270 then 265 then go from there.
Did 20 minutes of cardio on treadmill then 45 minutes of weights, then 15 on eliptical type machine. Overall good workout.
I felt my arms getting ready to burnout so I choose to use some wisdom tonight and not overwork myself. In my younger days I would push through it and then suffer the consequences a day or so later. I fear my recovery ability is not the same so I backed off.

Still here

They say that working out gives you energy, but they dont say that you need energy to workout. Just plain tired today, no reason for it except  lack of activity.
I need to get to the gym but just cant find the energy to do so.

Next Step

Just got back from the gym. Worked out with my daughter tonight. I thought it was a good workout , she didn't like becasue I push hard when working out but hey if oyu want to get better you have to push. Did 20 minutes of cardio then 1 hour on weights focusing on shoulders , biceps and tri-ceps.
Weigh in at the start and no change but hey dont except to drop it overnight.
Really trying to drink more water throughout the day and not bad so far, just a matter of making it a habit and not an exception.

Well lets begin

Well I started.
Weighed in at 275 lbs.
Did treadmill for 25 minutes for 250 calories.
Start slow and begin steady. Want to be more consistent in my actions rather than going crazy and then only doing it for a week or two.
I am not going to try any fancy plans or diets , just an old phrase that says " eat less, exercise more " . Perhaps the one thing I am contemplating is drinking more water.

Talk to you later.

Getting Started

“You think I have nothing else to do?”

Unfortunately the truthful answer to that question is far too often is YES!

I was sitting in the mall today waiting for one of the kids to finish their shopping and it popped into my mind that I need to stop sitting around waiting for one of them to ask for a ride here and a ride there. It has become my only reason for getting up and doing something.

Thus the reason for this blog, hopefully by writing about my experiences it will help me actually get up and do something. I am talking about losing some weight and getting my body back into decent shape. Not that I should need motivation as I am currently about a good 30-40 pounds overweight and even my 7 year old daughter told me last week that I need to start working out.

So here I go, the adventure starts today.
